Hamburg/Toronto, 2 Sep 2024 – The German legal/regtech startup LEX AI GmbH and the Canadian AI specialist Hashthink Technologies Inc. are cooperating on the development and globalization of the LEX AI SaaS platform. Founded in 2021, the AI startup LEX AI specializes in efficient research and knowledge management in the field of law and regulation, in which companies, law firms and legal and compliance experts in political institutions have to invest considerable time and money today.
The two companies have been working together since May 2024 to offer further AI-based functions on the platform and to include the US and Canadian legal systems in the offering. Hasthink Technologies has also joined as a co-partner to support the further growth of LEX AI with international customers. The well-known entrepreneur Carl Kirchhoff is already a Board Advisor for Hashthink and will also be active in this role at LEX AI to drive further international expansion.
At the same time, Saxum Global Consulting, an internationally operating corporate development platform based in Dubai, which specializes in corporate finance transactions and the internationalization of companies, will acquire a stake in LEX AI. Saxum Global Consulting is managed by the internationally experienced corporate finance expert Holger Scheer.
LEX AI has already built up an extensive database for the European legal area and the EU member states. The globally unique AI-supported newsfeed for legal and regulatory topics already comprises several hundred primary sources, which are summarized and linked by AI in order to significantly reduce the time required by legal experts in their daily work.
As many European companies and large law firms operate globally and need to understand the different legal systems, LEX AI is continuously expanding its range of information and functions internationally and strives for global coverage of the legal systems in the most important economic centers. Since 2021, LEX AI has already analyzed hundreds of thousands of pages of EU regulations and their implementation and integrated them into its comprehensive data model.
Large companies and law firms as well as well-known ‘hidden champions’ in the German SME sector are already using the platform.
